Same here.

Then just don't install the clip but instead slip a couple of steel plates into those slots at the back and use your magnets. That way, if it ever came loose your glasses would still be secure inside a closed box as opposed to going flying. Also helps with multiple mounting options.
Bruce, you are correct.
I actually misspoke ( you know why).
Here's the one I actually ordered:

Car Glasses Case Holder For Ford VW Audi BMW Benz Car Sunglasses Holder Glasses Storage Box Car Accessories
Black, United States x1

It is a closed back, with a removable clip.
Don't know why I typed the other.

That one should work perfectly.
I have recently discovered that the hook side of Velcro grips various trim panels in the car. That might give you another option to attach to the headliner.

I just put them in a vinyl/soft-plastic case and put them in the door pocket with a cleaning cloth in the pocket as well. Protects the glasses and a soft case doesn't add noise to the cacophony the door panels are already producing. Storage design is poor in the B9 from a shallow glove box, no overhead sunglasses holder, and open armrest cubby.

I made myself a sunglasses holder and stuck it on the side of the center console with double-sided tape.

It's 3D printed and the interior is padded with 1/8" adhesive foam rubber sheets from Amazon. I'll post the printable file if interested.

A man's personal innovation gets him exactly what he requires. Nicely done, I like it!

I have one of these and just throw the case in the door pocket. Since it uses a velcro patch as a closure, it is fast to open and close. And since it is plastic/vinyl with some form inside, it protects the glasses, but also doesn't clatter around in the door pocket.

The sunglasses holder that replaces the overhead handle is a really neat idea. I miss the overhead sunglasses storage that the B8 has. I’ve tried putting mine on the rubber mat in front of the USB charger but they still slide off sometimes when I’m turning.

Here's what I ended up doing, using nothing other than some rare earth magnets and a push to close sunglass holder from amazon:

What 3D printer do you have? Been thinking of picking one up but don't know much about them yet. Just starting my research...
