Has anyone found a nifty way to mount a European-style front license plate (wider rectangle) that is better than 3M adhesive but also doesn't require drilling holes into the front grille? I've tried searching here and looking online for some sort of bracket - no luck yet.

I used this solution from StoNShow — > 2020 S5 / RS5 license Plate SolutionNo holes drilled in the grille; (2) holes under the bumper and it removes in about 2 seconds, leaving almost nothing showing. You can spec either a US plate or Euro plate mounting when you order.

If your car is like mine when you remove just the license plate holder underneath will be the European holder I'll send you a few pics before and after

Just unscrew the usa plate holder and the euro holder is underneath

I have these brackets on the front and rear of my US spec audi to hold my German plates..

Ya the ones I have pictured above came from the factory. The euro style one is permanent and part of the grill assembly. The U.S. bracket literally just mounts right on top of the euro one. I wanted to take off the plate holder altogether and was surprised when I saw the euro holder underneath. So now I ordered a German personalized plate for my front. It will be the same as my registered personalized plate in california but in a euro style plate. I'll post a pic when it arrives.

There are other universal plate holders on the US site, just look for that term and you will find them.

germanplates.com also sells a universal holder similar to those (may be the same thing).
