Ordered a new CarLinKit and noticed that the new one has a different model number captured to the one that crapped out. Both were purchased through Amazon and both were advertised as the 2.0 version. I haven't installed the new one yet. Can you guess which is the newer one?

So I emailed the carlinkit team and told them I was stuck on an old firmware. It looks like they changed something on their end where I was able to upgrade now

id recommend checking again if you haven’t been able to update

It seems that carlinkit Is better than Carplay2air if the delay during phone calls was corrected with the laustest carlinkit firmware update.
I only have the carplay2air and it still has a noticeable 2-3 second delay during a call. It is very annoying to have a long pause when done talking to the other person.

Has anyone compared both to figure out which one works better?

Ugh. I see the latest update and the steps it says to take to update (disconnect carplay, connect to device's wifi, install update). When I actually try to install the update, it runs for 1-2 seconds, then says "Update Failed" and the only option is to reboot. I tried using Edge, Chrome and Safari on the phone and using the arm console and under dash USB ports. Nothing works. Anyone who has successfully updated to the June 2020 update have any tips for getting this update installed?

Cool. Thanks! I'll give it a shot. Hoping the update fixes the crackling/popping and the delays I've had.

Just tried. Same results. I bet there is a server-side issue that they need to fix. I emailed to have them (hopefully) fix it.

So been using the new update for about a day now. ‘Meh’ is prob the best thing I can say. I still notice crackling audio. And weirdly enough, I had a couple issues connecting in the very beginning (which never really happened before).

I still think some of the issues are related to my phone (iPhone XS) with relatively low battery health. To those who also have issues with the audio, what phones do you have?
