I have. I’ve found it helps to always refresh by pulling down from the top in the Drone app before issuing any commands, and that seems to help. I also found that it happened much more often when I was using the default AT&T SIM — it became much more reliable when I switched to the available Verizon SIM.

How much was the Verizon SIM? Might give that a try. Nevermind $20 @ bestbuy or crutchfield.

I have Verizon for my phone carrier, and it's decent for my area, not sure about AT&T's coverage. I'll give it a try.

Before you buy it! SIM has to come from Drone. Explain the lousy AT&T coverage in your area and request from them a replacement Verizon SIM. Drone will supply the replacement Verizon SIM (at no charge I believe).

Its $20 - available not only at Drone on their website - but at Crutchfield and at BestBuy..You can also find it on eBay, but its usually priced higher there.. Just to be clear - it doesn't matter necessarily where it comes from, what matters is that it specifically is Drone Part X1-VZW-SIM and not some generic SIM card.

Also, remove the SIM card from the back of the X1 device and take a picture of it. It has a 20 digit ICCID number on it and you'll need the last 6 digits of it later.

For the X1 Max device, meant for US only, the SIM will be an AT&T SIM. If AT&T is not available in your area, then you can switch to a VZW SIM, that must be ordered through Drone Mobile. A typical Verizon SIM won't work! No other carriers will work in the US.

Again -- also sold by authorized Drone resellers -- Best Buy and Crutchfield. It does not have to be ordered from Drone. I had bonus credit at Crutchfield and ordered mine from there.

I finally got it working. I had to unplug everything from the idatastart module and replug everything while holding in the button on the idatastart. Then I turned on the ignition and did not see any lights so I held the button in for 60 seconds. That gave 1 red and 1 green light. I turned the ignition off, started the engine, waited 15 seconds and held the brake. Next I hit lock lock lock and I finally got 2 blinks on the hazard lights for the first time. I released the brake and turned the engine off and pressed lock lock lock (very slowly) and it started! I tested the drone mobile app and it works too so I am very happy. I think I needed to reset the idatastart because it was used on my 2018 S5. I guess holding in the button for 60 seconds resets it.

The 2024 MY canadian market will get the Remote Start start feature on all A4 trims.
I wonder if it will be possible to retrofit.

Where did you see this? I think there's still the question of whether the 24 MY will even be B9.5 or B10.

LOL I was asking myself the same thing -- Or if there will even be another year of the A4/S4 period since the even model numbers are supposed to be only for EVs and odd numbers for ICE and hybrids.
