Alright. After looking into it, the Drone X1 Max is capable of operating off the indoor temperature of the car.
To do so, the Compustart/IdataStart module will need a sensor plugged to the two pin blue port (beside the yellow port of the module compatible with our cars).
Once you do so, the X1 Max will sense the temperature input and relay it to the app.
You will need to order the FT-TEMP sensor from IdataStart or Compustart.
See the below screenshot. After plugging in the sensor above, you will see that information.

The “key” was my fault for not telling them what I was doing with the 3rd key. If you are going to order a third “sacrificial” key, just order the transmitter!
The labor charge to “program” the new key / reprogram the MMI for the additional key was $147 (but that was offset by the $150 coupon posted on the Audi site).

In the photo above, key 1 is primary that shipped with car / 2 is the secondary key shipped with car / 3 is the key I just purchased, with the part number I listed earlier.

I am wondering if the 2nd key that's not glossy is cheaper though. If it is, then it would make more sense to me.
Also, for those reading this thread, I noticed that the rearview mirrors do not fold in when the car is locked via the Drone Mobile app.
They still fold when the fob is used though.

I installed my Drone today. Same thing here, mirrors don't fold in when locked via app.
Works great so far, good signal, good response time to remote start/lock/unlock (2-3 seconds). Puts the myAudi app to shame.
