okay. living in the PNW has it's advantages. We don't have acid rain and they don't use salt on the roads. Consequently my pinch bolt came right out.
Now. What's the process for getting the 17mm allen head bolt outta the end of the axle? Maybe a half inch drive impact wrench? I used the five foot handle from the floor jack and it never budged. At this time it is being frequently douched with WD-40.

Get a bigger pipe :-). I used a 6' black iron pipe + 1/2" drive 18" breaker bar. Steady force works better than impact wrench for this.
Also you should have the car on the ground and someone pressing the brake when loosening the bolt.

everything disassembled easily enough that I may have to put it back toghter to get the bolt loose. Oh well, it beats yapping on a chat / website...LOL

break them loose. They tightened them back down and put a little motor oil on the bolts so they would break later pretty easy. Sure enough, a breaker loosened them right up. (mechanic didn't even charge me thinking I will have to come back in to have them do my cv boots.......well, they were wrong) ;-)
