Oh so much you can do. And it seems like only '02's can reprogram the tip to allow the steering wheel shift buttons to override the trans in automatic mode.

I know search is my friend, just been here a year now and this is the first I've heard of this mod. I did find this link I think from the A6 board -- so can I override in Sport mode?

this link

It's just recoded to 00032 from 01012. And holds 1st to redline without upshifting.
This way, when I'm in D or S, if I shift with one of the steering wheel buttons the car will go into tip mode for 12-15 seconds. then reverts back to auto mode. The exception is that it will continue to operate in tip mode as long as I'm still shifting, or in a high-G turn like an aggressive ramp. But most useful as a downshifting tool to set up for a ramp.
Here's what I found on my car:
01012- how my car was delivered. no tip override but held 1st to redline
01002- same as above but upshifted out of first even in tip, no tip override
00002- tip override but upshifts in 1st gear early

In it you'll find the ever-helpful Stoney's FAQ whch houses just about everything you'd ever need to know.
And here's the quick instructions to recode. Nice thing is you can recode to 00032, or try other combinations if you want.

Tip programming links
