Red oil warning light comes on. Checked the dipstick and level checks ok. Any ideas would be helpful.

it is APR tuned, with a k and n air filter. What is a ECU and how much to fix?

Default So it has the APR soldered chip in it?

This is exactly what happened to me. How far is your APR installer? Best bet would be to get a tow there and have them resolder the chip to fix it. New ECU would be $1000 or so and you would lose the APR code. APR flashed mine for $50. I had CPO so Audi gave me a new ECU and then I had it flashed.

I had it modded after purchase. I took it to a audi mechanic and had him send it to apr. The mechanic then re-installed it.

Not sure if it is a soldered chip. I had it done about a year ago. Does APR still use the solder method?

Default They might. The newer 5.0 is available as a flash though.

I would call that mechanic to find out. Could be a just a lose connection to the ECU as well. That post I linked above goes through some things to try.

Start simple, check for trouble codes.
