I've spent about $2500 in repairs on my 01 AR, and it's going into the shop again next week. Probably needs new u-joints in front and some suspension bushings. Someone also dented the hood in the parking lot last month.
So... I'm looking at a new one. I see that on the Audi web site that there is an air suspension option on the A6 Avant. Not much other info except that it has 4 positions. Anyone know about this? Is this similar to the AR? Anyone driven one with the air susp?

I think the allroad has a total range of 66mm from low to high and the A6 65mm. The difference seems that the A6 runs in "level 2" normally and drops 15mm at highway speeds. It seems to be able to raise an additional 50 mm from normal (level 2) in steps of 25mm. The allroad seems to raise 25mm for heights 2 and 3 then 16mm more for 4. So from lowest setting the A6 seems to go 15,25,25 up, while the allroad from lowest goes 25,25,16 up. Any difference would seem to be in what the starting ground clearance is for each car.
I mentioned "seems" several times because AUDI is not putting a lot of specific information on their sites.
