Default 18" Summer Tire - 245/45 v. 245/40 and which one?

Scored a set of 18" RS6 wheels from the local tuner for an awesome price.

Now which HP summer tire to get?

They recommend the Kumho ECSTA SPT but it's only available in 245/40/18.
Any feedback on this tire?

How about suggestions for the larger 245/45/18 and why.
I'd like to keep the tires at or below $150 per so any heads-up on deals is also appreciated as I don't need to buy the tires locally.

245/45 is the correct size.

Default I would stick to the stock size (245/45/18). Given the area that I live in, any lower profile

tires is just asking for it.

Thanks.
Looks like I can get the Falken ST-115 locally for a good price in that size.

Anyone know what size hub spacer is optinal for the OE RS6 wheels on the Allroad? Local guy says 5mm but seems like most are using 15mm spacers on the Allroad.

Default Do you have the part number?

If it's an OE RS6 "winter wheel" (see pics below) part number 4B3 601 025 S 1H7, you will not need a spacer. The offset is 20mm, so you'll be fine without a spacer - unless you want a more aggressive look.

Here is what it looks like sans spacers:

Default Thanks

thanks & sorry for the delayed reply.
The rs6 wheels I'm getting are different. I think they have 8 spokes.
The size is 18 x 8 with 30 offset.

I've been told by several of the wheel gurus that the Allroad likes a 15 mm spacer with a 35 offset wheel. So if my rudimentary math is correct, I should be using a 10mm spacer with these hubs.
Correct?
