Default Re: Early on I noticed this more than now. Never felt it was a safety issue.

Didn't experience any type of hesitation at BIR last week. Many of the turns required a light touch of the brakes. Some required hard brake than quick throttle. Not a bit of hesitation.

Default Re: IIRC its called. BTL..brake.. throttle ..lag..

I never thought to write about it, but when driving in the city, as I do, it is dangerous as hell. Especially when making a left turn across traffic. My kids even flipped when the RPMs jumped to 7000 out of nowhere.

Default The only thing that works reliably for me is coming to a complete stop...

at every stop sign. From a dead stop, it accelerates smartly. It is accelerating from a slow drift that gets a bad hesitation. Thus, I drive like a teenager learning a stick shift- screech to a complete halt at stops, then peel away (OK, it's not THAT bad).

I feel your pain.I had read about this problem before I bought the car so I was somewhat prepared for it. None the less it is pathetic. I believe it is a comnbination of mechanical and software bugs. For me it happens at a dead stop, waiting to get into traffic. It is not turbo lag. I don't have my foot on the brake peddle. The system is just flat out pooched! It is dangerous as hell. If some one hasn't been broadsided I believe they will be. Most likley it will be someones child. They'll sneak the car out while the parents are away and BAM! Funeral notices will be sent. I'm amazed Audi hasn't fixed it. I'll probably be very hesitant to let others drive the allroad, at least in city traffic. So sad, a wonderfully engineered auto that won't move when you give it the spurs.

Default Biggest POS ever

The BTL can be measured in lightyears. Even after tip chip it's still a major PITA and will probably result in my tenure with this great car ending.

No matter which mode the tranmission is in it never gets anything right, and the ratios are all over the shop.

So far, it seems the tramsmission will be the end of this car.

Role on DSG - simply the best ever. Perfect in every mode and almost telepathic in sport, and you gotta love the downchange blip. Now we just need a high torque version with the RS4 V8.
