The B5 S4 has had two different styles of manifold, with the later ones flowing much better:
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/18896/side_by_side.jpg">
On the left is the old style manifold from the 2000-2001 S4 (p/n: 078133201AE). On the right is the newer manifold from the 2001.5-2002 S4 (p/n: 078133201BC).
From part number searching, it appears that the A6 2.7T and allroad have had two manifolds as well, part numbers 078133201AC and 078133201BC. The later part number is the same as the later S4 manifold, but the earlier one is different.
I've heard that the earlier A6/allroad one has the same runner design as the later one, but the vacuum ports on the back of the manifold match up with the older S4 manifold.
Can anyone provide any more info on this and let me know which model year A6/allroads have the 078133201AC manifold?
Thanks.

Do you know the part number? From my information, both of the manifolds from the A6/allroad look like the one on the right, but have slightly different vacuum port configuration at the back of the manifold.
Is the end of your VIN before or after 041000? It appears that is around when the manifold changeover occurred.
Thanks.

I purchase a manifold from a junkyard that has the newer style runners but the older style vacuum ports. I'll try to get the part number off it if I ever get my car back.
