2001 allroad - possible not pre-wired for cd changer?

Hi,
I am trying to install a phatbox into my 01 allroad and to my dismay I can't find the cd changer cable. My homework told me it should be there in an 01, and my head unit stereo sure has the "CDC" button. And yet... I don't see the circular connector.
Any ideas? Was this not installed on all of them? Am I maybe not looking in the right place? I had no trouble finding the DB25 connector (for the phone?).
Any help much appreciated as what was supposed to be a 20-minute DIY install is shaping up to be a major pain. :-(

You'll have to remove it anyway, if you want to easily cut out a slot in the rear for Phatbox cable clearance.
Mine was thoughtfully wrapped in foam, and attached to the rear of the mounting frame by a panduit/plastic connector - stuck into a mounting hole.
Be careful removing the frame hardware, so nothing falls into the depths of the quarter panel.
See TeddyBGame's writeup if you haven't already. Or I can give you some tips - I have an '01 AR too. Good luck, you'll LOVE it when it's done.

I do remember being frustrated when the Phatnoise came and I realized the cable I needed was round, not rectangular - as I had mistakenly thought the phone cable was what I needed. But I kept poking around and finally found it tucked away.
You do have an '01 with single-CD in-dash, right? Just checking.

No p-shop skills, but I'm pretty sure it's the cable in the middle of the pic, which is wrapped in that foam (just touching the air compressor). Pull the foam off, and it should be the 13pin plug.

It's not a photoshop, it's an actually picture I took with side panel off when I was doing hitch install wiring.

Thank you thank you to all that posted to help.
I finally found it where unodosturbosquattro said to look - deep down under the canister.
Gratefully,
Paul
