Secondary air pump? If so, not a big deal.

I haven't a clue so I did a "Google" search "audi allroad secondary air pump replacement" and it appears it is less than an hour job. I should have searched for "audi 2.7T secondary air pump replacement" but I'm learning.

The problem is definitely the secondary air injection pump (SAIP).

The pump is most likely failing because water in the exhaust has gone backwards through one or both of the "combi valves". When the pump bearings rust enough, the pump will stop screaming at you and freeze completely. This will cause the 40 Amp fuse to open and/or the relay for the circuit to fail. These parts are next to the ECU in the black box under the cowling cover by the driver's side.

You will find that a scan of the car's electronics using a VAG-COM will be reporting problems with the SAIP. Eventually, the CEL warning in the instrument cluster will illuminate.

You might consider unplugging the two pin connector from the top of the SAIP. This will save the fuse and/or relay. Both are expensive.

The exhaust air MAY be entering the SAI system backwards because the combi valves are not closing completely when the SAIP is not operating. This is caused by soot from the exhaust coating the inside of the combi valve.

Unfortunately, the best solution is to replace the SAIP and the combi valves (if they don't close when no vacuum is applied to them). The "Y" hose between the SAIP and the combi valves can become brittle and need replacing, too.

Default SAI pump is easy to rebuild

the bearings are industry standard, about $8-10 each (there are two), and it should take a couple hours for a reasonably handy person to take it apart, replace the bearings and put it back together. There's a writeup on audiworld somewhere, search for SAI pump rebuild.
