For 2002 the 605 FAQ needs to be modified/added to
1) I don't know why the FAQ does not say to remove the upper 8mm bolt as well as the 2 lowers, makes it's much easier and your not putting undo stress on the top of the lower dash piece.
So now the Servotronic is 628
So who ever wants to modify the FAQ and or the 605 Relay how to, and include 628 in the article name, that would be great.
I was trying to post pics but my editing software is having issues and it's too big to post in here.. but it's a audi servotronic Relay, all black # 628 embossed at the top (no white sticker)
the part number is 480 907 307B..

Q: Does the 628 relay provide
a more acceptable (less overboosted) steering feel than the 605? If so, can the 2001 allroad be retrofitted with the 628? Inquiring minds want to know...

Well I actually drove a 2001 and a 2002 (own the 2002) <more>
And I was actualy thinking about this tonight, yes the 2002 did feel a bit tighter, but it's still pretty loose..
The fiance (of 10 years, hahaha) Said that she almost ended up in some ones yard as she made a right turn. So I decided to nip that in the bud.
At first, when I took the non 628 out for a spin I was like "oh it wasn't that bad before ", then I drove it and I like the tighter feel of the post relay surgery!
Now do the 2001's tighten up at speed as my car is not bad @ speed with the relay. But cornering, you really have to be paying attention and just give it a bit of wheel, otherwise, wheeeeeeeee

If someone wants to test out my 628 on their 01 vs their 605, in NorCal, I'm more then happy to help.
