No work need on this 150000 allroad's suspension while in my possession - over six years.
Today the suspension light came on while driving. Suspension would still raise and lower at about normal rate per green lights. Compressor is not running continuously
Power-cycling at a convenient traffic light cleared the fault, but it came back after a few minutes. This pattern is repeating.
Looking for advice on how to troubleshoot.
I don't have a dedicated code reader for this guy - I do have a Durametric for our old Cayenne, no help really!
Thanks!

It is possible that the compressor does not provide the required pressure quickly enough because of the high wear of the piston ring in the compressor.
You can test this, when traveling at a speed higher than 60 kilometers per hour. Check how many seconds it takes for the compressor to lift the vehicle from mode 1 to mode 2, a result of 20-35 seconds is normal above that the system warns of a fault

Thank you for that suggestion.
Good news.... the amber suspension message has gone and stayed gone for several short trips.
Bad news.... at around 35 mph it took 55 seconds to raise from position 1 to position 2. I should say that it didn't feel slower than usual.
Next steps?

Sounds like it’s time for bagpipingandy replacement compressor ring.
the good news is he sells them on eBay from uk, I purchased mine years ago, it’s an easy job and he provides instructions in the kit.
this will return air pressure to your compressor at a fraction of the cost of a replacement compressor.
im not affiliated with him, just a satisfied customer.

In some cases it ended up with a piston ring replacement. But sometimes you have to disassemble and clean the compressor and check the condition of the valves. Pay attention to the air pressure hose that connects the compressor and the block block, even a small air leak in the hose connectors will cause the compressor to shut down

The good information is he sells them on eBay from united kingdom, i bought mine years in the past, it’s an smooth job and he gives commands in the kit.
This can return air stress in your compressor at a fragment of the price of a substitute compressor.
Im not affiliated with him, only a glad purchaser.
