245/45/18 or 255/45/18?
What do all of you think about the tire size for a plus 1 allroad?
245/45/18 or 255/45/18?
I have gone with 255/45/18 in the past on my 18" rims with a 5mm H&R spacer. (I forget the offset on the wheels -- MB spec, BBS with hubcentric ring -- but this does fit). Tires just fit under the wheel arches. I think at the time ( a few years ago), I liked the extra load capacity on the 255's, and a presumed slight MPG advantage, not to mention the wider contract patch.
Is this reasonable? If I went with the 245's should I expect to still need the 5mm spacer? Are the 255's too much? The Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in the 255 size initially worked well, but eventually developed bad uneven wear, and resonance issues -- tire's fault, wheels went out of balance, or is this due to size/spacing issues??
Those if you with plus 1 wheel/tires on your allroad, what size did you go with, why, and do you have any issues/problems with it? Thanks.

Went with 255's. No prolems at all. Wanted a little more sidewall - Baltimore roads are not particularly nice. Also have 8½" wide rims - most tire manufacturers seem to recommend 8"+. ET20.
