4 month old Arnott airbag suffers explosive decompression

IIRC 150PSI is the norm.
What wee call explosive is not the rubber rupturing, but the grommets/metal rings that hold the rubber in place, or an internal O ring that seals the shock to the spring.

Audi shoct airbag explodes
I had an Audi OEM air shock explode so don't think Arnott's are any worse in this respect. Parts fail, hold on to your steering wheel.

OEM Explosion
I had an OEM airspring explode on me while driving on the northbound FDR in Manhattan, doing about 50mph, right near 80th St. I heard a loud bang and the entire front suspension dropped immediately. I thought a tire had ruptured, but was puzzled because I was still able to steer. I pulled over into one of the emergency pull-offs, and saw nothing wrong with the tires, so then I knew it was an airspring. Back at the garage, the mechanic showed me the bad airspring (right front) and it was literally blown apart, with a tear about 4 inches long. I hope I have better luck with Arnott. AudiBMX, you can see the differences between Gen I & Gen II airsprings here http://www.arnottindustries.com/part...17_pid124.html
