Default 402 mod

My service manager called me today and told me to bring the 03 allroad in for the 402 mod.

Here is what he recommends:

#1 put it on the 4 wheel alignment rack before (just to check and record values)

#2 make the mod (we agreed on a lowering of 10mm)

#3 put it back on the 4 wheel alignment rack after (just to check and if necessary, adjust values)

He said to do this because he did not know if the lowering would cause an out of alignment condition -- said he couldn't imagine why it would necessarily do so.

Car has 3,500 miles on it now.

Dealer technician and service manager said I will be their first, but that when they went through the training school they thought how "easy" it would be to tell the car it was Xmm too high and watch it adjust itself to the new normal.

10mm seemed to me like a good number -- tech said if it were his car, he would probably go no more than 12mm and would make the next "mod" lighter and stiffer wheels and bigger and lower profile tires (18 x 245 x 45 perhaps?)

I'll let you know how it goes, how it feels, etc.

P.S. I get no apparent interest in the PSK mod from the dealer (who as you may gather is fairly friendly to this kind of thing) -- perhaps it is because there would have to be too many "cluges" to make it work without hitting the compressor? I read about the anti-sway bar mod yet, frankly, I would prefer something that was literally made just for the allroad (an allroad PSK option, i.e.)

Default Very nice. If they use Nebs write up, they should pay us dues, for educational private sector use

only just playin, they have the same documentation that we created it with. So great news. However let's hope they don't add the time putting it on the alignment rack twice to your bill..

Otherwise fantastic news, seriously.

Also your right, The PSK although provide some benefits I think is still too small for the ar, with like a 1" front sway bar, even the PSK rear is too damn tiny..

I think a tuner needs to build an ar sway..

One trip to the all wheel alignment is "audi advantaged" IF the car is not within spec PRIOR to the 402 mod.

If the mod causes a problem -- well, I'm probably $79.95 out of pocket.

PSK mod works great w/o any intrusiveness! My dealer was happy to install it, and I'm happy to drive with it. =)

I don't think I'll mention the 402 mod to the dealer... that's one I'd rather dealers (in general) not be aware of.

Default Dealer doing the 402? wow, now I've heard everything... enjoy!!!

I gotta lower mine again... too boring being back at stock. Wifey's been driving the allroad, so it's been stock for a couple weeks now... and unchipped. :-(

No charge. I'll tell you everything they tell me.

Is 10mm not low enough? Is that what I'm reading here?
