Default 628 Relay mod [ 2002 ar ] switching back and forth ... would a rheostat work?

I had pulled the 628 relay shortly after I got my car and last weekend I put it back in to see how it felt. I find now that I prefer the car with the relay in place for city driving -- I parallel park ALL the time.

I am considering having a switch installed when I take my car into the shop next week [not the dealer] so I can turn it on and off. But I got to wondering -- is there anyway to put a rheostat type switch on, so I could dial in more or less boost depending on what I was doing? I am aware that there is very little boost at highway speeds, but I would like to have more control over it. Has anyone played with this idea?

Thanks --

Lorne

Default Yep same thing here pulled it, then after driving the S4, put the allroad back together

It's much better with it in, IMO

Default Did you re-install a 628 or 608?

I still haven't tried the car with the 628 out... I'll get around to it someday. =)

Ditto! For city driving, I prefer the 605 feel

Default there is a way to adjust servo steering with adjustable resistor(seen it done on other models) just

don't like the servo relay. took mine apart and looked at it and that is as far as i got. think you have to pay with this link to follow how they modified it. maybe someone else has another link

http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_1297/article.html</a

Default itacud, if you're not using your 628, I would be interested ...

in borrowing & swaping out my 605 with it to see if there is any steering difference.

Default Relay question.

I have a 2001 allroad. The 2002/2003 model has a different and some say superior relay. Can I replace the 2001 relay with a 2002/2003 relay? How much do relays cost?
