Abnormal sound heard under hard braking
Coming from the rear of my 2005 AR. It sounds like the pads are rubbing metal on metal. I just got the car out of the shop recently from it's 45k service and the brakes were inspected and have a fair percentage of pad left so it's not a worn brake pad. Although if the dealership didn't check every pad carefully maybe one could be bad/worn beyond use.
I don't hear anything under light/normal braking. I was p***ing some slow traffic traveling to and from the beach this weekend and was braking hard once past the slower vehicle(s) when the sound was heard.
Wondering what this could be. I did a track day last summer and never heard any odd sounds, especially like this.

That is a possibility. I have been skiing a couple times recently and the gravel picked up could do it.
I pressure washed the car and did the wheels, but probably not close enough to clear out all the debris in the brake shoes.
I'll check again with some hard braking and see if it's any better.
