coming to a slow stop abs went off for about three seconds. the abs light and the traction control light then activated on the dash panel and didn't go off. when i turned off the car and restarted it they reset and went off. any one have a clue what happened?

Default Re: abs activated when it wasn't slippery

Did you hit a bump while braking? My A6 (2001) will activate the abs if I apply it almost simultaneously with hitting a small, but sharp bump. All of my Audis have done/do this. I assumed the combination of bump plus braking made the abs sensor think the wheel had stopped rotating and therefore kicked in abs.

It always happens at very low speeds, it has never been an issue, just a rare oddity.
