Default alarm keeps going off

My alarm keeps going off throughout the day. Sometimes the horn with go off, other times the lights just blink on and off. Anyone else experience this? If so, what was the fix?

Is your sunroof open? Sometimes the wind will set it off.

Disable the motion sensor (if equipped) then try it.

Default give up.

I had this too and, through 3 separate visits to dealer, have had motion sensors replaced (both sides) and the door handle switch or sensors (or something)replaced and it still happened for a time. Now it seems to be fixed but for a time it was making me nuts.

Incidentally, if you push the button to disable the motion sensors each time you lock it, it should stop. (or at least it did for me).

Joe.

open windows or sunroof, or dog moving inside will trigger alarm, if motion sensor button not set.
have you tried the motion sensor de-activation button inside driver door B post?

Default probably feels it needs to put a stop to those shimmering mirages. ;)

i wonder how often i leave the cell in the car, arm system, phone vibrates, triggering inner alarm. i know i've forgotten deactivation enough to scar Duke (sig). and yet the outer detection system seems to need a boulder crushing the car to activate.

Set (via VAG) the sensor to 50% and keep your windows up.
