Default Well worth it IMHO, if you buy used...

I love this car very much, its my third audi and by far my favorite, as well as my favorite car I've ever owned, and I've owned my fair share.

Even with the up keep being high, if you got it used you practically stole the car compared to what it originally sold for.

Default On a slightly related note...

I still have about 17 months left on my CPO warranty, and my original plan was to sell her then and pick up a CPO B7 S4 or A4 avant. But recently when I had the allroad in for work I had a 2008 A4 as a loaner. Aside from a few bells and whistles (nav., color DID) it just didn't compare to the allroad, and was a big let down (I actually preferred my 2006 A3 over it as well), it just didn't feel as solid or as well put together, and that was also with only 7k on it (although loaner miles) compared to the 52k on my AR. Considering the huge depreciation, how much I truly love driving her, and that nothing on the road can really meet the abilities of the AR, I think I'm going to keep her for the long haul and run her into the ground. It may cost a bit more, but its worth it.

Default We've joked here for years that we needed to do that, but then if several of us

went together to buy the "parts car" we would fight over the same parts Both you and Paul have good points and I think you really are saying the same things. What Paul wants to avoid is a young buck with a young family getting out of a solid B5A4 and into an allroad for the "family room" and then being surprised that this is an entirely different beast...in the fore warned is fore armed category.
