Default Allroad 2.7T 2005 - Heater supply pipe replacement

The old lady dumped a lot of coolant fortunately close to and uphill from home which turned out to be failure of the plastic fitting that is part of the supply hose (connecting just right (US passenger side) of the centerline of the engine to a manifold of some sort.

I'm getting this part number from web sources, 4B0819371G, apparently discontinued and only showing available from ebay suppliers outside the US.

Is there an alternative part number or a kit that replaces the end fitting?

Finally, the point of attachment is tucked away at the back of the engine of course - any hints and tips on removing the broken off part of the quick connect fitting?

And finally, if there is a better vehicle for driving on snowy mountain roads, I'd love to hear about it. The transmission is just superb at keeping traction up and down hill.

Thanks!

Try to search a bit on this. I got this, which is a new Audi part

There are several places to get used parts from.

Thanks for the suggested part. Unfortunately that part is showing as available but not compatible with the 05 2.7T - it was OK for the 01-04.

I've now got the broken parts of the fitting off the hard pipe side connector and from inside the hose and it should be easy to replace that elbow fitting, connecting a 25mm OD pipe to a fixed connector with a 29mm ID at the mouth. I can find several parts that look right, but their descriptions don't include dimensions and of course they're not originally spared for this vehicle.

I think I'm going to have to admit defeat and call Audi.

Any luck finding a hose? I finally gave up and got the 4BO819371G on eBay which shipped from Germany. Took 3 weeks but showed up.

If it's as difficult to access as it looks, I'd recommend replacing the other heater core hose too while you're in there, should be 4BO819371Q. It's also discontinued without replacement but I found one on a shelf at a dealer in CA. Both hoses ran me ~$150 each.

As it happens I finally found a helpful Audi spares guy who helped me get to an even more helpful VW spares guy here in town. The hose that failed is not available in the US, but is as you discovered available outside the US.

However the solution I found was identifying the correct quick release elbow fitting, available in 48 hours from VW. The part number is 1J0-122-291-C.

Thanks for the info, I could find just hoses with no fittings across the interwebs but I never thought to look for the fittings separate. If the new hoses fail I know where to look next!
