Default allroad 4.2 transmission problems

Our allroad 4.2 that my wife is driving is starting to have transmission problems and it just started today after a wheel alignment at the dealer and putting the winter tires. I don't think it is related to the dealer visit.

I stalled twice at a stop, and I noticed that it would not engage smoothly in tiptronic (I always drive the car in tip mode). Then when starting in 1 or second, it would not engage right away but give a big lag and rev before engaging. Talked to the service manager over the phone, same issue in Drive. But works fine in reverse. I was planning on keeping the car when it is off lease at the end of June, but this issue is really giving me 2nd thought. The car has 42,000 miles and has been problem free.....

Check the fault code in the TCU and ATF level first.

Default Wondering if this is a tranny problem. Could be missfires due to

bad coil packs. I'd pull the codes and see. From what I've read here 4.2's coil packs are an issue.

I' ll bring it to the dealer on Tuesday morning... The dealership I go to does excellent work (plus I know the owner very well, he is also french)

By the way, the 6speed manual is going strong, love the car more and more everyday.... Hope you have a nice holiday season in Boston!!!!

Default Same to you in Penn. My auto is running better than ever after

I did the Tbelt service and some other things. It was a pleasure to drive the allroad up to the mountains for a day trip skiing. The car loves the mountain roads and cold weather. Any more classes this way in the future??
