While at the Geneva show early this month the Allroad 4.2 V8 was unveiled and said to be in production for the European markets. The 4.2 utilized is a modified version of the current 4.2V8. The cam belts are relocated to the rear of the block there by shorting the motor to fit in the standard nose A6/Allroad body. Any clues from the list as to the expectations of a USA delivery?

I've spoken to a couple of SF area dealers, who are (deliberately) vague on the V8's arrival. Want to make sure they sell the 2002 2.7t inventory first.
General consensus is for the 2003 model year, with first ones off the boat in the late Fall this year.
