Of course this topic applies to all 2.7T engines, but I thought I would bring it up here since there are only a handful of you with cars and a handful of us waiting for ours to be delivered.
What is the dealer's recommendation, if any regarding break-in.
My last new car was a 97 BMW and they recommended to not exceed 4,000 RPM for the first 1,000 miles and to vary engine speed and gear selection as much as possible (i.e. don't cruise on highway for 1,000 miles straight).
Thoughts?

He said the same thing. 4000 limit for the first 1000 and no cruise control and very very limited tiptronic (because the temptation is great to open it up).

and I tend to keep my cars about 150K and then sell them to friends. I break them in carefully and have NEVER had an engine burn oil. On the allroad I have exceeded the 4K limit, carefully, but don't push my cars until they are broken in and fully warmed up. I am always amazed to see smoke coming out of the exhausts of seemingly new cars.
