Default Which allroad to buy?

Been driving SUV's for 13 years (Pathfinder, then QX4). Gave consideration to Cayenne and BMW 4.4, but planning on buying a new allroad in the next two weeks. Thought I would get a 6 Manual 2.7, but dealer tells me it drives better in tiptronic, or better yet, get 4.2. Love the car (although all those red lights at night on dash will take some getting use to), if money isn't the primary issue, which car to buy?

Default Hands down get the 6speed

9/10 tip owners would probably buy a 6 speed if we had the chance to do it over again.

I only got the tip because I couldn't find a 6 speed that fit my budget/timing/etc.

Default Love to know what the dealer meant by "better".

yes, the auto is more relaxing and WAY easier to get. if you go for a stick, you have to be alittle flexible on options unless you order. the 4.2 is a nice torquey motor that sounds great. if you want some speed, a Giac chipped 2.7 will absolutely obliterate a 4.2......everywhere. i have a chipped tiptronic (wife REALLY wanted a tip)and the car is SO incredible. if i had gotten a stick, i'd probably add alittle more go fast toys since the auto is already at it's smoothness limits with this kinda power (about 320hp/360tq). we added the Hsport swaybars and couldn't be happier with the handling. the 2.7 will always handle better due to lighter weight, but it's not a huge difference. if money is not a problem, i'd still get the 2.7 and in a stick. add a chip, downpipes and an exhaust to your liking. the swaybars and wheels of your choice and prepare to be blown away by what you've created. Audi truely named it correctly

Default Bilstein coilovers PSS9?

Can you explain what your coilovers do for you? I thought there were no significant changes that could be made to the suspension.

Default I concur; Get the 6-spd. The only reason I got a tip was because of the wife.

I'd recommend either the 4.2 if you must have an automatic transmission, or the 2.7t with the manual transmission.

Default 6 speed 2.7T...all the way.

with a chip, the grin factor will be never ending. I have a tip, but if I could have gotten a 6-speed, I would have. Gragravar makes me jealous everytime I see his car...love that 6-speed.

Default Personal Prefference...

I wanted a stick... so I have the 2.7T and love every minute of it...especially now that I have a Chip under the hood..
No electronic transmission lag... no slow shifting, just Power On Demand and 22 MPG

if you like to row your own gears, the 6-speed is the best performer out there for an allroad
