Well....
I will give you a brief run down, but there is more info to be found by searching the archives.
Here you go.
There are three major chip manufactureres
1.GIAC
2.APR
3.ABT
Don't ask which one is better because it will start another world war. Everyone has there opinion, and it usually revolves around which one they have. Performance wise, (at least by the numbers), they are all pretty equal)
They increase the HP by about 50-70 and torque about the same, some slightly more than hp #'s
They cost about 500 bucks and in my opinion and all of us who have them they are well worth it.
No you can not get them from your dealer, and yes the could potentially void your warranty, most of us either have dealers that are willing to work on the car regaurdless, or just take the gamble, for the drastic performance increase.
you can get a chip from any of these dealers.
GIAC - www.giacusa.com to locate a local retailer
APR - www.goapr.com
ABT - www.advancedmotorsport.com
or www.stratmosphere.com
Hope this helps 8^)

Here is what I think a pretty darn good write up, but it's a bit biased
I think it covers things well and I didn't ask permission to post it, but since he posted it and it's available via the web should be cool..

Small chip write up

reputation and convenience
I've heard great things about the various manufacturers. I went with my chip for two main reasons. 1) the positive reputation of my installer, and 2) the convenience of having someone local - lest I face a worst case scenario.
The one thing I can add, for sure, DO IT! - I've had mine for 2 weeks and still can't wipe the grin off my face.

Yes you want to chip, my research led me to belive that they are all about the same performance wise
I went with APR so that I could switch between 93 or 91 octane programs depending on which fuel was available when I needed to fill up. I also like being able to switch to the stock setting if I wanted and to erase fualt codes.
