allroad leaky sun roof -- urgent or annoyance?
My (new to me) allroad dumps a bit of water on the back cargo area when I start the car if it rained all night. I park it on a slight hill pointed up.
I assume I need to clean the drains, and hopefully that settles the issue.
Am I likely to total the car if I leave this unfixed? IE is it going to dump water all over some really fragile bit of electronics?
Chris

X2 on the advice, to not let this go and address it sooner than later..
You should do yourself a favor and snake out all your drains....sunroof (which terminate in the front door jamb areas, on each side), and the firewall plenum drain (the area, under your battery).
Most owners will not do this, and even if you don't have tons of leaves in there, it only takes 1, to block this small drain hole or build up dirt, and crap.
There is quite a bit written here, about all the electronic modules in the floor boards, under the carpet. The ECU (engine control unit/module) and TCU (trans control unit/module) especially, will cost you an arm and a leg if soaked and cause all sorts of problems, you then have to try and diagnose.
Keeping drains clean, is just one of the Allroad quirks and easy, smart maintenance. Well worth the time spent now, to save $$ later.
Good luck

yup, had an allroader in boulder loose his tcu because of a clogged drain under the battery
insurance totaled it, i think someone there bought it and changed the module out
