I'm thinking of flapping my allroad. Any comments on likes and dislikes from those of you that have them.
Also, how do they attach? Do any holes need to be drilled or do they attach using existing holes/hardware?
Thanks.

honestly, that alone will save you an hour of fighting with them ![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
no holes need to be drilled, just make sure you have the right torx bits beforehand
oh, and the fronts are doable without taking the wheels off, backs aren't so easy

They are good for keeping the side panels from getting sand blasted by "road kickup". I painted mine gloss black so they always look new and don't get that faded grey-ish look. Some people on the board, however, think that they hold more snow & ice build up in the rear tire wells. Hasn't seem to be a problem with me though. Installation is a PITA. You need to do some minor trimming of the flaps (per the directions) and get them to line up corectly with your car's trim. A warm garage and a couple beers should get you through it. Keep the kids indoors, there will be some swearing !!

The aluminum trim strips are really expensive, and they take a beating from the debris thrown by the front wheels, so that was my main motivation. To tell the truth, I didn't realize rear mudflaps were available when I ordered the fronts. Without the rears, I often see rooster tails in my rear view mirror. That means that the rear plastic bumper fascia is taking a lot of abuse, but it's more resilient than the aluminum. I might still get the rears, though. I have no complaints about the fronts, other than the tendency to retain snow. Not a big problem, though.
