Now that dealers have gotten their deliveries I don't see them jumping off the lots especially at these prices. What is the best price to possibly negotiate? My dealer has suggested $3000 over invoice as his best deal but I bet there is more room especially as the economy slows down.

Overturf VW in Kennewick, Wa. The car was $2495 over the sticker. We ordered the allroad in June and got it in Dec. The dealer informed us of this price when we ordered it.

I ended up leasing an allroad with a capitalized cost of $1,459 (3.4%)over invoice. The best quote that I got was $1,079 (2.3%) over invoice and the worst quote was MSRP which represents a 12% dealer profit.

I ended up taking the 3.4% markup because the overall cost of the lease was cheaper over the term of the lease. The dealer that quoted 2.3% tried to get me through the money factor on the lease and the lease actually ended up costing $100 more over the life of the lease, a $480 swing.
