Default allroad tip gear ratio/speedo question- what rpm do you turn at 70 mph??.....

Brought an allroad home this weekend to try (and to sell the wife on). The allroad turns a whole bunch more rpms on the highway than my '98 A6 2.8Q.
at 70 mph:
my A6 turns- 2500 rpm
the allroad- 3000

Both tip, both in 5th gear. Is this normal for an allroad with tip? If so, do we know if the allroad has a different final drive ratio than an A6 2.8?

Other than that, the allroad is one fine car. As my wife put it- "station wagons don't have a right to be this fast." This from a lady who used to race Porsches. Now if I could get her to warm up to Highland Green.......

Stay tuned to see if she gives me the green light.

Default allroad is geared a bit shorter because it's Audi's "trucklike" entry, at least

for now (too bad it won't stay that way). The 6 speed is geared even a bit shorter -- I'm at about 3200 at 70 mph.

I don't know tip ratios, but here's a comparison of manual gearboxes in the various 2.7t cars that Milpitas2.7T posted way back when.

https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/11584.phtml</a

The Six is very nice... even in heavy traffic, it's effortless. =)

Default Yeah, you're right. I misremembered

which needle was on the hash mark and which was above it; I'm also at ~72 with 3K rpms.
