Sorry, I miss posted. I was wondering where you got your wheels. I like them much better than the original double-spoke ones that came with the car. If you don't mind me asking, where did you get them and how much did you pay for them?

If your talking about my 4.2? Those are the stock wheels that came on the (18" wheel) 4.2's that came out in 05.

Nokian WR's. Best tires I EVER had on the ar. Only tires that actually lasted! They are the only all season actual snow rated tire out there.

I put Goodyear Assurance TripleTreds on last January...great all around tire (comfort, quiet, dry, wet, and snow/slush). The thing that absolutely sold me on them is the 80,000 mile treadwear warranty. Given that our cars will shred tires in 15-30K, that additional 50,000 miles of prorated tread warranty helps alot!!

I've put a little over 10K on them and haven't noticed any wear at all...

Default Winter Tires

Have an "05 AR and my OEM tires are wearing on the edges and it is time t replace
I have a set of Primacy MXV4 ordered but am thinking I should get a winter tire for the winter (in Wisconsin) and in May put on the new treads. I was looking for thoughts as it is an AWD vehicle, and what winter tires are recommended.
I see several reasonably priced: Firestone Winterforce for one.
Michelin X-Ice Xi2 is well rated as well

I will not be buying new wheels, just the tires
Thanks
PG

Default Winter tires

PS
I had continental ProContacts on my SAAb and they did pretty well in winter
I have not had the luxury of the AWD in winter yet

Default My yoko w.drives wore off in one year!

Interesting to see this thread still alive. I'm looking for new tires again and this time considering mounting winters on the double spokes and getting rims for summers in the spring.

My fronts are gone and the rears maybe good for the rest of the winter. They seem to be discontinued so buying two new ones for the front is not an option. My mechanic tells me I shouldn't have driven them in the summer eventhough they were supposed to be all season winter rated tires.

Anyhow, I'm looking at two set of used tires that are available in my area and would like to know if any of you have had experiences with them:

pirelli winter 210 sottozero 225/50/17 90% tread left
Pirelli Winter 210 Snowsport 225/50/17 85% tread left

the sottozeros have great reviews on tirerack. People with vettes use them.
I'm wondering which one of these two would have a longer tread ware.
