I think I am going to try for 5 more weeks...

Well, my thoughts are since summer (July:) is over it could be anytime now:)
Also question: when you run winter tires how bad is it to run them on dry pavement....we get lots of snow and ice but then they plow and so on...TIA

I just replaced my summer tires, they had NO tread left, was suprised how well car handled with bald
tires in the rain actually. We can run at least into last October around here with summers.

Not the winter tire expert but...
I'm told you should only get 3 seasons at the most out of your winter tires. Soft rubber and dry roads means alot of wear. I'm sure someone that is more knowledgeable can give a better opinion.

Dang.... I'm still waiting on my wheels from the powder coaters..
these guys have taken all summer!! The only reason why I'm putting up with this is because he'll do a GREAT job and only charge me $100 for all four wheels.
I've been itching to put these wheels on and enjoy some dry pavement driving but looks as if I have to wait til next summer.

that is the weird thing about denver
it usually is dry, but then when it snows, it can be bad. and you can drive 30 miles west and have as much snow as you could possibly want.
therefore I drive on dry pavement in the snows almost all winter just to be prepared for the days when I need to drive in the snow.
for what it is worth, my winter dunlop M3's are doing awesome and have lasted much longer than any of my summer tires (of course I also havent had the winters on at the track - might try some ice racing on them this winter though).

20' drop ins are fun. my friends and I call it cliff diving
but my wife refuses to join us on those days.
and for what its worth, I try to keep the drop ins down to 10' now a days.
