...or, maybe, just German luck (that famous Audi gutenduetschegluecklichheit).
I picked up a set of stock-sized snow tires today (Dunlop M2s) and discovered that they fit quite nicely in the back, standing up side-by-side, thank you very much. You have to take off the cargo-cover windowshade to get the hatch closed, and then it's a close enough fit that they don't roll around very much. And it looks as if there's enough width to fit in a set of 245s when I move to those for next summer.
Every other car I've had (including my A4s) has needed weird packing or allowed its extra set of tires to roll around, thumpa thumpa.
This is *such* a cool vehicle. HPH
