boost steering at ALL speeds? Some archive posts seem to suggest that Servotronic even boosts steering at highway speeds, while others suggest that it makes no difference at higher speeds.

Default P.S. Has anyone done the Tiptronic 605 switch mod? I don't understand where the "octopus" comes from

These instructions seem to suggest that you have to purchase the "octopus" (i.e. it's listed under the "What you get" section), but I have no idea where to even begin to find that. Otherwise, the article doesn't describe how you would construct the "octopus" assembly.

Am I missing something?<ul><li><a href="http://home.earthlink.net/~oxy8384/605mod.htm">Tip 605 relay switch instructions</a></li></ul>

Default don't need the octopus

that guy was disabling the 605/628 relay when car was put in TIP mode.

Just pull the relay -- drive around for a few weeks and see how you like it. If too heavy, then all you need to to do is wire an interrupt into the black 12V wire via a toggle switch. Then you can turn the relay on/off via a dash switch.

Default I understand that I can put in a simple interrupt switch, but I WANT the Tiptronic to control the

relay. Most of the time, I'm driving in Tip mode, and I don't want Servotronic.

If I'm in a parking lot steering around, I want to be able to put it in auto mode and get the 628 back.

I have too many extra switches as it is (one for V1 / Blinder, another for a backup camera), and I don't need another one for Servotronic. I'll get confused as to which one is for what.

Default oh, ok -- then you need the octopus

that his term for his custom made harness. Someone on the A6 board may know exactly what it was.
