The new S4 will probally only be one car length behind, I don't call that kicking a$$, the old one yes the M3 would kick its a$$,untill you feed it some chips...

most S4 owners don't stay stock. I'm sure your BMW loving friend is aware that bolt-ons do almost nothing on an M3. I'm still waiting for an M3 to step up. Pretty sure I'll be doing the "quicking."

Now if you change your story to say in the middle of December in a New York snow storm yes, or in a very wet situation yes, and even off the line. but once up to speed, the handling of the M3 will nuke the stock S4
