Default Another question for the 4.2 folks - is the 4.2l the exact same as the B6 S4 V8?

I haven't crawled through ETKA much to check yet but based on APRs code releases it looks as if their allroad 93 program raises the 300 stock hp to the same 352 as the B6/B7 S4 V8. That would be very cool if the allroad 4.2l is just detuned to 300chp... I was planning on changing cams and such if there were differences, much like what I've done with RS4 parts and APR code on my Stg3 S4. There are some part differences that I've found, camshafts for example.

TIA.

Default for all intents and purposes, yes.

official word is that the allroad's engine was detuned to 300hp to allow use of lower octane gas (for example, if you took a jaunt to Mexico for the weekend).

Otherwise the design of the engine is the same -- accessories moved to the rear of the engine, just like the S4.

also detuned to keep the S4 as the hi output/performance engine of the fleet.
