Default Antenna mast replacement tip - go VW.

I ordered a third-party supposed OEM replacement for $20 to replace the original which rotted out and broke off. The new one did not fit because I have the "telematics version" which has a wider circumference screw. Come to find out the Audi part is like $75. Well my wife's 2004 Jetta wagon with "On Star" was sitting right next to the AR in the garage and man that mast looked awfully similar so I spun her off and tried it on for size and guess what --- same damn mast! Fits perfectly and whattayaknow.....it's half the price as a "VW" part number.

That just kills me......

that doesn't surprise me about the price, but glad it worked out for you.

Default in '01 there were 2 different threads on the mast. The H2000 fits the 6mm

I think. The other mast was 7mm I think and is tough to find.

Default I think it is 5mm and 6mm......

I bought a knockoff and it is 5mm. Mine on my car is 6mm. The VWs I found online were similar 5mm reg and 6mm "telematics". I have the shorty knockoff that is 5mm if anyone wants it?

Default UPDATE

The Audi mast was $98...yes you read right. The VW equivalent was $72 - the dealer misquoted me the price but they cut me a "deal" for $52. So it is still cheaper but not cheap by any means. I don't have the part number handy but it is the Jetta Wagon 2004 with On-Star - that's the clincher. It is EXACTLY the same as far as I can tell.
