Default You are on ;-) Actually, I'm hoping to get both cars on the track this time, we'll see...

Just need to find a cheaper towing solution, 1K for the trailer hitch is way too much......

Default That sounds about like my first experience...

my last time there, with upgraded pads, fluid and lines, I was braver going into turn 1, so on the times that I came out of turn 10 really well I was somewhere around 130 at the end of the straight. (Surprised the hell out of the guy in front of me in an STi - he thought the big wagon was going to disappear behind him.)

Default Re: Agreed better brakes and more experience would increase the speed

Many times there was an S4 2.7 Avant with an APR chip that I was running with. I was faster in the corners and usually had a bit of a lead coming out of turn 10. The S4 would catch me 2/3s down the straight and would need to back off a bit. With the extra weight of the allroad it held it's own well. I also think the MTM chip delivers the power really well. Keith (installer of both chip and h-sports) was the instructor in the S4 and I think he was pleased with how the ar (and the driver) was doing.

After the last run my instructor stated "keep that car it's a great setup. But, if you want to do more track time you may want to consider something lighter." That wasn't what he was saying when we started.

Default At one time, you were looking for the allroad's aerodynamic info. Here you go..

Cd = 0.35 In some specs. it's .31
Frontal Area = 2.30 m2
Cx = 0.81

Default It ain't 0.31 -- not with fender flares and roof rails.

Thanks. It is glad to know that the coefficient of drag Cd of an allroad is 0.35 and that the frontal area is 2.30 m2.

That means the aerodynamic friction it must overcome is 24.5% more than my S4 has to overcome with a 0.32/2.03 respectively. Should translate into a top speed of only 93% of an S4's ungoverned 157mph, or 146mph, ignoring differences in tire friction.
