why not buy a different color for cheap and paint it?

Have you ever had a black car? I had one and while it looked GREAT right after I waxed it, it sucked at all other times. EVERYTHING, that is dirt, water marks, scratches, dust, whatever, shows...I mean shows bad. Additionally, the car is just too friggin' hot all the time...the color soaks up the sun.

Your choice I guess.

Hmm, I'll sell you mine. $25K. Loaded, painstakingly restored to near new appearance and all the major services done. I'll take the money, buy a 2002 and do it again.

Default Yeah I agree. Don't get stuck on a color.

I have to admit I went after black, but finding a 6spd was hard enough. I got the cobalt blue with no regrets. It always gets written up as black. I also owned silver and it was great. Very easy to keep looking good. Honestly after lusting after black and now owning blue I would get dark grey next time for ease of upkeep.

I'd trade mine for a similarly-equiped 2003 in any other color (save for cobalt and burgundy) if it weren't for the CA sales tax I'd have to pay. I've decided black is not the best color for the allroad.

On the subject though, a buddy of mine is turning in his leased 2003 today. Fits your description exactly. Very attractive residual. Not sure if he's interested in dealing with it though, since just dropping the keys at the dealer is quite easy. I imagine the car will be available from the dealer he's turning it in to though. Email me if you would like more details.
