Default Anyone Here Ever Wax Their AR's Exterior?

What do you recommend, Turtle Wax? And do you use Armor All on your dashboard to keep it from cracking from the sun?

Thanks

Default Zaino all the way, and...

stay away from Armor All. It'll make things slick and glossy for a while, but ultimately do more damage than good.

Default Buy a premium car, use premium cleaning products...

I'm a fan of Blitz One Grand car wax. It leaves a very durable waxing since I don't wax as often as I used too when I had no kids/dogs/boats/etc.

On the dash use Lexol Vinylex. Much better product than Armor All. Leaves a matte finish so it isn't so greasy and you don't get glare off your dash into the windshield.

You won't find these products at Pep Boys or K-Mart. Try http://www.carcarespecialties.com/ or many other places on the web.

Isn't the dash leather?

Default To tell the truth, I just dust the dash with

one of those California Car Dusters, and clean it (sort of) with whatever overspray falls there when I clean the windshield. I use Meguiar's on the leather.

Default Pure carnuba waxes are the only way to go...

Easy to apply, easy to remove, doesn't leave white residue on plastic.

Also, wax the gray plastic pieces, they are painted and it gives them a nice luster.

Pinacle makes a great interior (as well as exterior wax) plastic polish and gives the car a great smell.

Definitely synthetic. Vinylex works great.

Default agree with mpm on a good pure carnuba. I also like ...

303 for the dash and plexus to clean and protect just about everthing else (clear plastics, wood trim, headlights), both are amazing products.

Also browse the detailing forum, there is a lot of good information to be had there.

Detailing Forum
