Below pics are page of ross-tech wiki and setting of my vehicle pulled by vcds tonight.
We can see the original coding was "00001".
According to ross-tech wiki, the meaning of last digit "1" should be AWD(rest of world), because my AR is living in Japan.
To recode this number, should i input either "00031" or "00032"?
Any login code required?

BTW why is not the original setting "01001"?
The tiptronic buttons/paddeles are definitely installed on my AR...
?????

Thanks.

try (00032). engine off,key on, no login required. enjoy, your tip is "chipped".

after make sure you do a throttle body aliment after erasing all fault codes after you recode your tip, even if there is none, then do mb 63 kickdown adaptation.

Well, I was getting pretty bad gas mileage, after a bunch of work, (all reg maintenance done, plugs, filters, belts) was not seeing much. and then I had her chipped. But if I keep my driving reasonable (don't hammer it unless I need to and keep her around 75 on the highway) I went from 16ish to 20 on my best tank. My boost is topping out at 16psi. I drive mostly highway and my comparison tanks are the same route everyday. (I drive 500 miles a week so gas mileage became a real concern) I drive with toyo all season tires so not very sticky for resistance sake.

Is your AR an automatic? I just got my AR a couple weeks ago. It is a 6 spd and I seem to be getting about 20 in mostly sedate around town driving. A PO purchased the APR chip, but so far I have only been using it on stock. I figured it would eat more gas. I guess I will try it after I get another tank for baseline econ.

i've failed in recode 02-auto trans.
My AR didn't accept "00032".
Just erased "00001" and input "00032" to coding and push "do it".
But still keeps to display "00001".
Probably the coding is chipped and totally fixed at "00001".
This is oem chipped Japanese AR???

Thank you very much!
Finally ive succeeded in recoding to both "00031" and "01031", currently choosing "00031".

According to your past advise, so many things i have to do from now.
Just let me summarised as below.

1. Erase fault code (fortunately no fault code in my ECM now)
2. Perform basic setting of group 060 throttle body alignment.
engine off/key on.
3. Perform basic setting of group 063 kickdown adaptation.
engine off/key on.
Fully depress accelerator pedal and keep it pressed.
4. Perform basic setting of group 094 vvt intake camshaft adjustment.
engine on at idle.
depress the accelerator pedal and brake pedal at same time.
5. Perform basic setting of group 107 diagnostic fuel supply system.
engine on at idle.

im doing this mod without changing n75 of TT(just recoding tip).
Some questions are below.
Should i perform group 094 and 107 yet?
Can i skip and ignore all above procedure?
Are these step just for my safty?
Or are these step very necessary to get good performance?
Why we do not have to perform other group of camshaft adjustment? e.g. 090,091,092...etc

Anyway im already drinking beer can not drive tonight anymore.(Saturday night! JPN time)
Very looking forward to check new performance of my AR tomorrow.

Thank you!

you don't have to, but everytime you change something you should zero out the learned values so the car can adapt.

107 is not so nessary. 94 is for the vvt to calibrate. improves low end torque.

63 is your kickdown switch adaptation for the pedal.

Hi choptt deeply appreciate your fruitful advise!
The result of recoding "00031" was excellent!
i did nothing except only recoding 02-trans from 00001 to 00031.
After that suddenly the exhaust sound of idle had something changed.
But shift up & down schedule of transmission seems to be changed nothing.
Only the power and torque of engine had obviously improved.
My AR got very powerful heart by foc!
IMO engine power might be improved from 250hp to around 300hp!

I have searched around the nearest apr shop so many times, but found more than 200km apart from my country city.
Additionally this apr dealer normaly wants around $2k in Japan this is crazy price for me.

Very satisfied and happy with "00031" mods in 02-trans.
How to call this mods from now?
00031 mods in Japan and 01032 mods in USA?

Thank you very much again choptt!!
