Default APR Releases the R1 Diverter Valve!

After 3 years of development, APR has done it again! The world's only diaphragm style diverter valve that is capable of holding extreme boost levels with no loss of response and operation is now available! A diaphragm based valve offers the fastest response possible, faster than the oem 710n, light years beyond the ability of piston style valves and with a lifetime warranty and no torn diaphragms!

The R1 incorporates a cast aluminum lower assembly, cnc'ed top assembly with oem style pressed and rolled vacuum port, fabric reinforced nomex diaphragm and proprietary spring. All metal parts are anodized and the lower assembly is powder coated glossy black for a very attractive engine bay. All R1's are manufactured in the USA and assembled with final quality control at the APR World Headquarters.

The R1 will respond almost 10 times faster than any other aftermarket valve currently available, requires zero maintenance and works for every turbo car in the world that requires recirculation (engine management uses a mass air flow meter). Keep that a secret though because we don't want the competition to learn how APR Tuned Porsche, Audi and VW's make it to the finish line first!

Default Nice.. if it's as smooth & reliable as the APR setup we ran One Lap in you've got a winner

maybe I can put the Bailey's on ebay and upgrade the allroad

Default Ed, just curious, you guys drove the S4 and not the allroad, correct?

Actually, I've been thinking about a 2008 participation with the allroad, by then it should be fast enough and bulletproof to make it all the way.

The main challenge is the classification: Luxury Sedan even for an Avant? Every M5 will still drive circles around us, not fair ;-)

Default RMcQ pet peeve: Use of "10 times faster" when describing the time for something to happen

For such an engineering oriented offering you might consider using proper fractional/multiple relationships. If the old valve responds in (for sake of argument) 1 second than the new valve responds "ten times faster" than that amount or 10 seconds right? Oh, wait - that sounds slower. So lets see... its 10x faster so take the 1 second and subtract(?) 10x or 10 seconds and get -9 seconds for the response time of the new valve. Huh?

Anyway, I get the point that it is faster, but if you are going to put numbers to it you would think you want to do it in a quantifiable manner.

The way to do it is to say that it responds in 1/10 the time of the 710N..... or you could just tell me to go fvck myself which is fine too. SRSLY, I'm just showing off for my allroad friends after a brief intermission.

Default Data, Data and more Data.....that would be a good starting point ;-)

I have a hard time believing in the "The APR R1 was designed to be maintenance free for the life of the product." part and here is why - because of the dirt and oil that accumulates over time and will get into the DV. There is no such thing as maintenance free, if it contains a moving part then it will need maintenance at one point.

Sorry, but w/o accurate data done by an independent company I tend to agree with RMcQ.

Default Does the unconventional "vavle" spelling enhance performance too? graphics guy needs a dictionary :)

(I'm referring to graphics at the top of the product page, which you may want to replace)
