Hey Folks:
I've decided to move my son's rear facing infant car seat to the middle of the rear seat where there is no LATCH attachment. The issue is that I'm not satisfied with how tight I can get the base. I know that there are a number of aftermarket adjusters that can be used to ratchet the shoulder-strap based seat belts to make them tighter when used with child seats. I was wondering if anyone here has any recommendations for one of these devices.

i bought the mighty tite from amazon (it was highly recommended on like baby center), but ended up using the latch and getting a pro to install it (after sweating for over an hour fighting with the damn thing to install it myself).
note, the reviews on amazon are somewhat mixed, but they always are.<ul><li><a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B000056JHP/qid=1065850489/sr=8-1/ref=sr_8_1/002-7219499-1200025?v=glance&s=baby&n=507846">Mighty Tite on Amazon.com</a></li></ul>

I have two seats in the car. One forward facing behind the drivers seat and the other a carrier base (currently rear facing) in the middle. I use LATCH for the middle seat by utilizing the innermost hooks on both sides. It works great and keeps a seat open in the back.

of the fold down armrest. At least that is what my dealer told me. In the event of an accident, the armrest is supposed to flop down and hit the child, casuing injury. Don't know if it's true, but I figured "why take the chance".

IMHO the risks of a high speed side impact and/or the consequent deployment of the rear side curtain bags would be a greater risk to my son. However, I thank you for bringing that up - I'll try to figure out a way to secure it.

In my case, with only one child, I keep the Britax on the passenger side for ease of getting my daughter in and out. And she loves to look out the window, though last night on the Borman coming home from MI I got tired of her yelling "big truck" while we were stuck in the usual Sunday night jam. Oh well, just turn on the Wiggles and she's happy.
