Audi certified or not
I bought my '03 from a dealer in NJ and was given the option of buying the car certified or not. The adder was $2,000. The car had 44,000 miles on it, which means it is still under the OEM 50,000 mile warranty.
Is Audi certification worth $2,000?

I paid 1,500 Canadian for a 2003 extended warranty
Worth the money, since a had a torque converter failure and windshield wiper motor replaced in the extended warranty period.
If you read how many AR got a Torque converter failure lately it is already worth the money.....
Greetings from Montreal..

Re: Audi certified or not
I bought my '02 AR from a local dealer and didn't pay anything for the 2 year, 50k mile additional warranty. I was surprised to learn that I have a $50 deductible. I had my torque converter replaced a few months ago due to a seal failure so $50 was cheap.

Do it. Nothing better than the OE Audi program ....
for the way a dealer can handle for you. Other programs will cover a few more things, but for 50% more $$.
It's a 6/100 plan so depending on when the car originally went into service, you could have have 3+ years from now and another 56,000 miles. I believe dealer cost on the Audi Assured warranty is $1900 so they're giving you a good price.
FYI- when I got my '02 as an 8 month old used car, the certified plan was included at no charge.... but that was a special program Audi had for the allroads back in 2003. No charge to the dealer.

$2000 is steep. Others have done this for less. Consider, you can get
twice the time for only $500 (25%) more than the $2000 without the wear and tear exclusions of CPO if you buy an independent extended service contract - of course, this might depend how many miles per year you drive if you go up and back to Canada often and exceed 25,000 miles per year, you don't care about the extra time. I drive about 14,000 per year so CPO did not cut it at only extra 2 years over the 4/50 to reach the 100 total mileage.
Seriously, others have done CPO for closer to $1500 as it costs more like $12-1300 according to my sources from AW. $2000 is not a bargain, just the quoted cost. $2400-$2500 for a 8-9/100000 (additional 4 or 5 years from today) might be better for you to consider as an option, and you can get these for around that cost. Just my input - but I'm glad you got the car. J.

CPO program has changed
it is now a 2y/50k from second in-service date. So may or may not go to 6/100. Still a pretty good way to go. I was quoted actual cost as $1250. Most just roll it into the car cost. A CPO should cost a little more than a regular pre-owned, but I would go that way.
