Audi warranty available after CPO runs out?
I got a somewhat strange voicemail saying my warranty is about to run out and I should purchase a new one to ensure I'm covered. I was on vacation and my cell coverage was a bit spotty so I'm not sure they specifically identified themselves as Audi...however, who else would know that my CPO warranty was about to lapse on 7/17?
Is it possible to extend through Audi? I was planning to go the 3rd party route through Bruce M.

That was me, answer your figgin' phone. :) Just kidding, see inside.
It's just telemarketing. Any company can buy a list of names/numbers/addresses for people who bought a certain car on a certain date, so they can figure out from time (and miles if they want to pay to cross-reference with DMV records) whose warranty is about to expire.
Then they can email, direct mail, or call those people (or have a third-party telemarketing service call them) to scare them into, err, I mean, inform them about, buying an extended warranty.
I just never do it because it seems so slimy. Posting here amongst friends is so much more pleasant. Plus I deal with fellow enthusiasts and people that know what their cars are all about, instead of, um, well, you know.
I guess if I want to grow the warranty part of my business I'll eventually have to reach out proactively this way, but for now, I won't.
Besides, I like buying cars more than selling warranties, so I am going to post soon about my buy-to-order program. Stay tuned.

^^ good reason to put your phone #s on the federal DNC list ^^
I curse out telemarketers that call me in violation of the list.
(of course, I don't think Bruce would violate any DNC lists

https://www.donotcall.gov/</a

Ah, that makes sense. I /swear/ they forgot to leave a company name. Maybe they were just trying to scare me with an Audi-like call and then go for the jugular with a direct mail piece. Ha.
OK, thanks. Re: warranty, do I need to start it before this one ends?

We have both house phones #s on the DNC, and we get very few unsolicited calls.
On one phone I also enabled "block calls from those blocking caller-id", and that seems to take care of 90% of what's left over.
