both side cv boots, not sure if inner or outer
from the research here, generally not covered under warranty, unless caused by other failure
indy quoted 290 per side, which seems very high
they are warrantying some other stuff, wheel bearing, front sway bar which a bolt backed out and ovalized (perhaps causing cv boot failure??)
sway bar happens to be a hotchkis installed by the same indy...
heres a copy of the aul reserve terms

is this even worth fighting?

Just had the right side cv boot replaced with 50K. This is the p/n 441-498-203-A Boot @ a prive of 53.16 (list for 77.33) parts only. How can they justify $290 per side when they are already doing the bearings? Something doesn't sounds right here!

they are only doing the right rear wheel bearing
the front cv boots are torn (were replaced around 30k, along with control arms)
they are also replacing the front sway bar under warranty (h-sport) as a bolt backed out and subsquently damaged
but Brett, one the mgrs there, said the sway bar and cv boot are not near each other
Their prices are high, but it is san francisco, paying cash helps a bit...
hopefully they'll discount all the work

It does not say that boots are not covered unless I missed it. Isn't a boot considered a seal? I would say fight it as it does not explicitly state that the boots are not covered and are on all vehicles today. All extended warranties I have ever owned have covered boots. Many of these companies will deny claims to preserve the BL but then approve after a fight. If you end up losing, look for a shadetree Audi certified mechanic. My guy works out of his house on evenings and weekends as there is not enough work at the stealership to pay the bills.

Just went through this a day ago. Audi will not cover this under the CPO. The dealer wanted 491 for the outer boot. I had the boot replaced today at an Indy for 225.
BTW,
PaulRoad, thanks for the great tip on KMD. Very happy with the service will be doing my 75K Maintenance with them in the next month or so.
